Kenya is a cultural
and geographical microcosm and the age-old cradle of mankind. A
natural paradise and a land of contrasts, her national parks and
reserves rank as some of the finest in the world and include the
world famous Masaai Mara, Amboseli and Mt. Kenya..
They exist as total wildlife sanctuaries
where human habitation is prohibited and animals roam wild and free.
As a holiday destination, Kenya is unrivalled; not only for the
diversity of her terrain which stretches from the snow-capped peaks
of Mt. Kenya to the silver-blue ribbon of the Indian Ocean, but
also for the extraordinary richness of her flora, fauna, bird and
marine life.
In addition to all these remarkable gifts, it is undoubtedly also
the overwhelming hospitality of the Kenyan people, which leaves
a lasting impression on all those who visit this great country.
Maasai Mara National Reserve
Day 1:
After breakfast, depart for Masai Mara - an extension of Tanzania's
Serengeti National Park. This is serene vast country of breath-taking
vistas, a panorama of vast rolling plains and rounded hills, of
intermittent groves of acacia woodlands and dense thickets of scrub.
The Mara River and its tributaries which are margined by luxuriant
riverine forest bisect the whole land . And in every direction there
are seemingly endless herds of game animals. Arrive in time for
lunch. An afternoon game drive followed by return to an archetypal
Masai Mara lodge/tented camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2:
Two game drives for the day to absorb the beauty and splendor of
the Mara. In this country of breathtaking vistas, view its vast
assemblages of plains game together with their associated predators.
Mara has the largest population of lions to be found in Kenya. Other
animals to be seen here include Buffalo, Black Rhino, Hippopotamus,
Leopard, Cheetah, Common Zebra, Coke's Hartebeest, White-bearded
Gnu, Oribi, Warthog and Thomson's and Grant's Gazelles. The bird
life of Mara is as profuse as its mammalian fauna. All meals and
overnight stay are at the Masai Mara lodge/tented camp.
Day 3:
After breakfast, return to Nairobi.
