Balloon Safaris in Serengeti National Park

Unforgettable and a most beautiful experience, a Balloon Safari over the Serengeti is truly the ultimate once in a lifetime experience. At dawn you will take off, rising as the sun rises and float in the direction of the morning winds. As you drift across this magical landscape towards an unknown destination, your pilot will precisely control the altitude of your balloon: sometimes flying at treetop height, other times lower, offering a unique perspective and great photographic opportunities of the wildlife below. He will also ascend to 1000' or more so you can see the enormity and wonderful panorama of the Serengeti.

The flight is for about one hour depending on weather conditions. On landing, you will celebrate in with the traditional champagne toast and enjoy a full English breakfast of fresh tropical fruits, warm freshly baked bread, bacon, sausage, eggs, mushroom and tomato prepared and served in the bush in 'Out of Africa' style served by stewards in customary Swahili dress. After breakfast you will receive your Serengeti Balloon certificate and be driven back to your camp or lodge via a game viewing route.

At 9:30 am you will arrive at camp or lodge ready to continue with your day's activities. The hot air balloon flights take place in scenic beauty of Maasai Mara from designated areas. You trip begins when you get your wake up call at your safari lodge or tented camp in the early hours of the morning, as you yawn away, and thoughts about your wildlife viewing from an elevated position begins to stir your mind. The fresh Kenyan traditional hot tea and coffee quickly awaken you, in fact preparing you for a "mission".

A gentle ascent takes you well above tree-top level and the whispering light breeze soothes the hearts as you enjoy a panoramic view of wildlife drama unequalled anywhere in the whole wide world. Thrilling drama of nature’s battle of predators verses the prey, which is constantly displayed in the savanna grassland from time immemorial. It’s worthy your dollar! Remember to put on practical clothes, preferably cotton; a sweater will shield you against sometimes windy flights. Sturdy shoes are necessary.
